Endoro Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Of course the Ngorongoro Crater is well-known for its incredibly dense wildlife population and, therefore, offers superb game viewing. Located on the edge of the Northern Highland Forest Reserve, the Forest boasts of over one hundred bird species, as well as resident elephants, buffalo, baboon troops, and the occasional lion. Within a few minutes’ walk of Endoro Lodge are the Endoro River Nature Trails, which are delightfully suitable for hiking, bird watching and game-viewing. Guests are also encouraged to embark on a guided walk along the rim of the legendary Ngorongoro Crater and the forest boundaries. Here guests can see how the local families live with and among some of Africa’s most famous animal residents. Something special is for guests to visit the Elephant Caves, which is where the elephants of Tarangire have, for centuries, dug into the rocky hills for vitamin and mineral intake. Bicycle tours through the local village is a pleasant, cultural experience whereby guests are offered a view at the local schools, as well as the local industrial activity. Learning tribal dances, trying the various local dishes and listening to the historical stories of the tribal people and the surrounding area.
