Escarpment Luxury Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Lake Manyara National Park offers an incredible wealth of habitats and diverse African wildlife. On the wide open grassland plains, guests will see wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, bushbuck, aardvarks, elephant and the occasional leopard, while the lake attracts over 380 species of birds such as flamingoes, spur-winged geese, storks, Egyptian geese and pelicans. Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions are another reason to pay this park a visit. The only kind of their species in the world, they make the ancient mahogany and elegant acacias their home during the rainy season, and are a well-known but rather rare feature of the northern park. In addition to the lions, the national park is also home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world.
From the lodge, guests can take a cycle tour to the nearby village of Mto wa Mbu where you can indulge your need to shop for local curios and artifacts. It can be arranged that guests climb the Great Rift Valley Gorge or balloon across the Serengeti or enjoy morning game viewing en route to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation area.
